A commonality among webOS enthusiasts is their ability to maintain the usefulness, applicability, and capabilities of their favorite aging hardware. The GSM Pre3 and Veer were touted as having 4G capability but truly only have “FauxG” speeds. That same fact resounds for owners of the HP TouchPad 4G or the much more rare and GSM-capable HP TouchPad Go. Oh well, speeds are slower but we don’t really care because we love these devices, right? Sort of! We DO love the devices but who can leave “well enough” alone? Grab your favorite spudger and torx screwdriver set because what I’m about to show you will have you clamoring to replace the old Ericsson card inside your “4G” TouchPad and you’ll be surprised just how simple it is to do.
LG looking for more content partner deals for webOS TV
As reported by The Korea Times, an LG official has confirmed that the company is seeking deals with major U.S network broadcaster FOX to provide content for LG’s webOS based TVs.
“We are negotiating terms with Fox TV to put its content and other services on our WebOS TV,” the official said.

Feedly goes webOS
If you like news (is there somebody who hates news?), you were likely a user of Google Reader which was one of the best RSS platforms out there. Unfortunately, this great product was discontinued (Hint: It’s not the only great product with this cruel fate!) and so apps like NomNomNom, which I was a big fan of, became suddenly useless.
Most platforms were lucky enough to get alternatives: Feedly is one of the best and most used successors of Google Reader. It works wonderful on Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and hell there is also a client for Symbian!
If you visit this blog often, you probably miss one OS in that list. Well, stop it!

Former HP CTO weighs in on LG’s webOS TV
pivotCE reached out to former HP CTO, Phil McKinney, for his thoughts on LG’s implementation of webOS for their new line of TVs. As you may remember, Phil was on the HP board of directors and was pivotal to HP’s Palm acquisition. He has since retired from HP and is now the President and CEO of CableLabs.
