Since the shutdown of the HP/Palm servers our ability to access webOS doctors, manuals, and other goodies that used to be up for the masses is pretty much non-existant. The good news is there’s a fix. Edit your hosts file!
webOS Nation’s forums user and webOS Ports team member, Garfonso, has updated the C+Dav Synergy Connector for webOS to version 0.3.31.
CalDav and CardDav are now the standards with the broadest server support for syncing calendars and contacts. And thanks to his and webOS Ports’ efforts it works for legacy webOS AND LuneOS too.
It’s 2015 and people are still developing for legacy webOS. Crazy, right? You won’t catch me complaining! Next up is pivotCE’s own rainy day blogger, Brent Hunter! (Think: FeedSpider!)
The webOS Ports team has a momunental task ahead of them. They’re building an operating system from scratch. And no don’t think for one second that Open webOS which started the LuneOS project was actually an operating system. See the pic and video, it ran on TOP of Ubuntu so make no mistake, making it into what we now know as LuneOS has been no small feat.
Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth that happened when we found out LG’s 2014 webOS TVs wouldn’t be receiving webOS 2.0! So many gnashed teeth…all for naught. CNet reports LG will in fact push the 2.0 update out to 2014 webOS TVs.
Ok, it was just a rumor that the sets wouldn’t get the update but still…we don’t need any more bad news!
So everybody calm down. And someone send me a webOS TV. For real.
